Obverse: · SIGISMONDVS · PANDOLFVS · DE · MALATESTIS · S · RO·ECLESIE · CAPITANEVS · G ·  Bust facing left, wearing cuirass and surcoat.

Reverse: · CASTELLVM · SISMONDVM · ARIMINENSE · MATTHEVS · PASTVS · V · F · 1446 · Scene: The castle of Rimini, with many square towers, curtain-wall and gateway.

Background:

Cast in 1446 when Matteo was living in Rimini. The “Rocca Malatestiana” began in 1438 and was finished in 1446.

Diameter:
80.9 mm. (Max. Diameter reported: 83 mm.); Bronze cast.
Evaluation:
Good patina; slight wear; likely original cast. Hole filled.
